Peer review policy

This policy describes the process for new submissions. It does not retrospectively certify the review history of articles already published.

Editorial and review process

  1. Submission. Authors contact the editorial office and provide the manuscript, author details, and required disclosures.
  2. Editorial screening. The editor checks scope, completeness, originality concerns, and ethical disclosures. Unsuitable submissions may be declined before external review.
  3. External peer review. Submissions proceeding beyond screening are sent to reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers assess the methods, evidence, interpretation, originality, and clarity.
  4. Revision. Authors address reviewer and editor comments in a revised manuscript and a point-by-point response. Further review may be requested.
  5. Editorial decision. The editor decides whether to accept, request further changes, or reject the submission on scholarly grounds.
  6. Production and publication. Accepted manuscripts proceed to publication preparation and author proof checking. The APC is USD 500 per accepted article, payable after acceptance.

Independence and confidentiality

Editors and reviewers must disclose relevant competing interests and step aside when these prevent an impartial assessment. Unpublished submissions and review communications must be treated confidentially. Payment must not influence review or editorial decisions.

Review arrangements

The identity-disclosure model, number of reviewers, and expected timetable will be communicated to authors before review begins. This website does not promise a fixed decision date or acceptance.

Appeals and concerns

Send a reasoned appeal or concern to XXY@ickb.com, identifying the manuscript and the decision at issue. Request details of the appeal handling arrangements from the editorial contact.
